Switches decide how many ports a site has and whether those ports carry power. Cameras and sensors mostly draw power over Ethernet, so if the port count or power budget falls short, the devices simply cannot go up. This group runs from unmanaged desktop units to industrial DIN-rail, surveillance-VLAN and PoE++ managed models.
